PARKINSON'S DISEASE

General Infomation

Parkinson’s Disease Causes, Symptoms and Herbal Supplements.

Parkinson’s disease is a brain disorder that causes shaking and difficult with walking, movement and coordination. It affects both men and women, and is one of the most neurological disorder in older people. Though it can strike young adults and even children in rare cases.

Parkinson’s disease is caused by progressive deterioration of the nerve cells (DUE TO LACK OF ENOUGH SUNLIGHT.) in the part of the brain that controls muscle movement. These cells produce DOPAMINE, one of the neurotransmitters used by nerve cell to transmit impulse, and this deterioration reduces dopamine levels. Insufficient dopamine disturbs the balance between dopamine and other neurotransmitters. Without dopamine, the nerve cell cannot properly transmit messages, resulting in the loss of MUSCLE CONTROL.

Persons with Parkinson’s disease may show MENTAL DETERIORATION, including DEMENTIA and HALLUCINATIONS. Milder cases of mental deterioration involves difficult in adjusting to changes and learning new information. Reduced ability to show facial expression, producing a mask like appearance on the face. Loss of fine motor skills, such as difficulties in WRITING and EATING. Nasal congestion, increased susceptibility to COLDS. PNEUMONIA and FLUE, and gastrointestinal problems especially constipation and heartburn.

Medical test are required to rule out other disorders that cause similar symptoms and not for Parkinson’s disease. Medications control symptoms primarily by controlling the imbalance between neurotransmitters. Herbal treatment, in turn are used to help control side effects, and act in milder ways to balance neurotransmitter.

Symptoms:

The Symptoms of Parkinson's disease

Symptoms vary from person to person. Early signs may be subtle and can go unnoticed for months or years. Symptoms typically begin on one side of the body and usually remain worse on that side. Parkinson's signs and symptoms may include:
• Tremor.
• Slowed motion (bradykinesia).
• Rigid muscles.
• Impaired posture and balance.
• Loss of automatic movements. Blinking, smiling and swinging your arms when you walk are all unconscious acts that are a normal part of being human.
• Speech changes. Many people with Parkinson's disease have problems with speech. You may speak more softly, rapidly or in a monotone, sometimes slurring or repeating words, or hesitating before speaking.
• Dementia. In the later stages of Parkinson's disease, some people develop problems with memory and mental clarity. Alzheimer's drugs appear to alleviate some of these symptoms to a mild degree.

Medication & Prevention
Alternative Medicine:

COENZYME Q10
People with Parkinson's disease tend to have low levels of coenzyme Q10, and some research has suggested it may be beneficial. However, subsequent studies have not confirmed this benefit. You can buy coenzyme Q10 without a prescription in drugstores and natural food stores. Talk with your doctor before taking this supplement.

MASSAGE:
Massage therapy can reduce muscle tension and promote relaxation, which can be especially helpful to people experiencing muscle rigidity associated with Parkinson's disease. These services, however, are rarely covered by health insurance.

SUN BATHING.
According to the latest research, parkinsons disease is more prevalence in places with less sunlight such as Greenland located between the Arctic and Atlantic oceans, east of the Canadian Arctic Archipelago.
